In Western Australia parking time limits for ACROD permit holders are regulated by the Road Traffic Code 2000. These time limits apply to Accessible Parking Bays and regular parking bays.
Local government laws may set time limits and concessions for parking in Accessible Parking Bays, provided that those limits and concessions are consistent with the Road Traffic Code 2000.
Regulation 174 of the Road Traffic Code 2000 applies if the vehicle displays an ACROD Parking Permit and the ACROD permit holder is either the driver or a passenger in the vehicle.
If these conditions are met, the following time limits apply:
- if the time limit indicated on or with the sign is under 30 minutes — for 30 minutes.
- if the time limit indicated on or with the sign is between 30 and 60 minutes — for 2 hours.
- if the time limit indicated on or with the sign is over 60 minutes — for twice the period indicated on the sign.
If you are unsure which time concessions and limits apply in an area, contact the relevant local government for advice.
The Road Traffic Code 2000 is administered by the Department of Transport.
